The old version of this product is a 5-star product, one of the greatest things EVER!! Unfortunately the manufacturer has changed this product: now there is a seam stitched lengthwise down the middle, creating 2 long “pockets,” Now it’s stiffer, doesn’t mold to your neck/body part nearly as well, and I don’t know if they changed the material inside, or if it’s just the design change, but it doesn’t hold heat as well as the old design.
The changes make this product less comfortable and less effective. Maybe it’s just because I’ve loved the old one for so long, but in my opinion, this new version does not even compare.
I’m really sorry I can’t recommend this at all. If you find one that looks like the picture, GRAB IT!! It’s one of the best things I’ve ever owned. The new one: it’s a pass for me.

Heat packs and ice are great for muscle pains

But, do not use heat packs after lots of activity, and do not use heat after an acute injury. Heating tissues can be accomplished using a heat pack.
